Nampa 34th Ward Pioneer Trek July 6-9, 2011
Martins Cove, Wyoming

FAQ's

How will we get there?
It takes 10 hours to get to Alcova, Wyoming (Martin's Cove) and we will be traveling by bus there and back.

How much does it cost?
We only have a rough estimate on costs right now, and it does not include all of the fund raising we will be doing!  We hope to able to cut that cost down as much as possible.  The good news is... you have almost a whole year to start saving your money!  Please, please do not let the cost of the trek stop you from coming!  Updates will be given on costs as soon as we know more.

What will the weather be like?
Since we are going in July, the weather should be pretty warm.  It is also extremely windy there!  But be warned!  Wyoming weather is very unpredictable and can change drastically in an instant.  All we can do is prepare the best way we know how and the rest is in the Lord's hands.

Who can attend?
Any youth that will be turning 12 years old in the calendar year 2011, or older is expected to attend, the youth must be living within the ward boundaries.  Any adults who are physically able, and NOT PREGNANT are encouraged to attend.

What do we do about pictures?
There will be a designated photographer that will be taking pictures and video of the trek.  This will allow everyone attending to not worry about getting that perfect picture.  We will be making the pictures available after we get back to anyone who is interested in having them.  That being said please leave your camera at home.

How can I as a parent stay in touch with my child while on trek?
This will be a great time for peace and quite at home, and we encourage you to take advantage of it.  We are not allowing any cell phones, ipods, mp3 players, dvd players, computers, tv's, or any other type of electronics.  Without these distractions everyone will be able to get to know each other better and build a stronger bond within the Ward, this will only allow everyone to get the most out of this spiritual experience.  There will be an emergency contact available if needed.
